Jeffrey Abildgaard, MD
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist
Dr. Abildgaard is a fellowship trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon with additional subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He specializes in both arthroscopic and open surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee including reconstructive procedures, tendon/ligament reconstruction, and cartilage restoration.
Dr. Abildgaard received his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his orthopedic residency at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix. While in Phoenix his training occurred at the Mayo Clinic, Phoenix Childrens Hospital as well as throughout the Banner, Honor and Dignity Health systems. He supplemented his training with a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dr. Abildgaard enjoys caring for individuals of all ages and athletic levels. He has provided care for athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
Additionally, Dr. Abildgaard is active in research and is currently a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery (AAOS).
